For practicality, we recommend using a mattress protector to keep your mattress in good condition and to make it easier for you to clean up messes. We would recommend a mattress protector that only covers a portion of the mattress (i.e. leaving the area where the child’s head will lay uncovered). Or using a mattress protector that has a waterproof backing with a breathable mesh top.
